PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an active alumina having higher heat resistance. SOLUTION: The method for producing the active alumina comprises rehydrating a rehydratable alumina powder, in which the quartile deviation of the particle size distribution is ≤1.5, at ≥100°C and then firing.
