PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple-structured method for joining concrete pavement slabs, which is also excellent in workability on the job. SOLUTION: A joining reinforcement 6 is housed in a horizontal hole 5 in one pavement slab and after joining joint end faces 3, 4 of the pavement slabs 1, 2 so as to coincide openings of the horizontal holes 5, 8 of the one and the other, one end of the joining reinforcement 6 is inserted into the horizontal hole 8 of the other pavement slab 2. An end of a vinyl tape (pulling member) 12 is connected to the end of the joining reinforcement 6 and then the joining reinforcement 6 is housed into the horizontal hole 5 together with the connected vinyl tape (pulling member) 12 while the other end of the vinyl tape (pulling member) 12 is pulled out above. After abutting the joint end faces 3, 4 of the concrete pavement slabs 1, 2 to each other and joining horizontal holes 5, 8 thereof, the joining reinforcement 6 moves toward the other horizontal hole 8 when pulling up the other end of the vinyl tape (pulling member) 12, so as to have the joining reinforcement 6 placed astride the horizontal holes 5, 8.
