A separator for cylindrical or taper rollers comprises a body of elastic material having two concavities to seat respective rollers, a slot 2 extending partially through the separator from one end thereof, to form two lips 4a, 3a, a spacer element 10 being positioned in the slot between the lips. Spacer balls 10 spread apart lips 3a, 4a, and are retained in seats by the elasticity of body 1. The concavities are cylindrical or frusto-conical to conform to the rollers used. Different sizes of spacer balls may be used with the same body. The separator is used in a radial or thrust roller bearing. |
