PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pickup device capable of surely taking out various kinds of flexible materials one by one. SOLUTION: This pickup device 1 includes a support 3 positioned above a plurality of mutually stacked flexible materials 21, a movable member 5 liftably arranged on the support 3, a stopper 7 for regulating the lower limit lowering the movable member 5, a gripping means 13 for rotating a pair of the sandwiching plates 9 of opposing lower edges 11 to the flexible materials 21 in the direction for mutually opening-closing the respective lower edges 11, a pair of airtight plates 17 for sandwiching the pair of sandwiching plates 9 so that the sandwiching plates 9 rotated by the gripping means 13 slidingly contact inside, and a suction means 19 for generating negative pressure inside the pair of sandwiching plates 9 and the pair of airtight plates 17.
