PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display which performs quasi-impulse drive, improves luminance and video characteristic thereof at a low cost. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display, a first switching means 31a constituting each pixel 20 has a control terminal A connected to a gate line G2 and another control terminal B connected to another gate line G1 and becomes electrically conductive when the control terminal A is a low level and the control terminal B is a high level. A second switching means 32a has a control terminal C connected to the gate line G2 and another control terminal D connected to the gate line G1. Pixel capacitance Clc and storage capacitance Cst are connected to data lines (D1-D4) via the first switching means 31a and connected to a black signal supplying wiring VBK1 via the second switching means 32a.
