<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely set gradation of a pixel recognized by an observer to a desired value. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device 100 includes: a pixel circuit U including a light emitting element E, a drive transistor TDR, a capacitive element CST, a first switching element SW1, and a second switching element SW2; and a drive circuit 30. A reset period Pr is provided between a write period PWRT and a light emitting period PEL.
