PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing such a resin composition for optical waveguides permiting the formation of the optical waveguides having a satisfactory optical transmission capability and a sufficiently high pattern-formation precision.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a resin composition for the optical waveguides containing a polyimide precursor which is obtained by the polymerization reaction of tetracarboxylic acid anhydride and a diamine and which is expressed by formula (1), and a photopolymerization initiator, is characterized in that the polymerization reaction uses phosphoric triester as a solvent.
