<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an RFOG having optical heterodyning for optical signal discrimination. <P>SOLUTION: The RFOG includes a reference laser which emits a reference laser beam, a first laser source which emits a first laser beam, a second laser source which emits a second laser beam, a detection resonator coupled to the first laser source and the second laser source, a resonance tracking electronic circuit configured to generate a first control signal and a second control signal indicating that the first laser beam and the second laser beam are in an off resonance state respectively, and a first optical combiner and a second optical combiner configured to generate a first beat signal and a second beat signal by beating a first output and a second output of the detection resonator with the reference laser beam, the resonance tracking electronic circuit being configured to discriminate between at least one rotation detection error, and the first output and second output based upon the first beat signal and the second beat signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
