<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that suppresses deterioration in cleaning performance due to residual toner or paper powder attached to a blade even when continuous image formation is performed using toner having small particle diameter and a spherical shape. <P>SOLUTION: A blade opposing roller 14 is applied with a bias voltage having the same polarity as a secondary transfer bias voltage that is applied to a drive roller 7, and an intermediate transfer belt 5 is partially given vibration. Accordingly, a relative position or a contact state of the intermediate transfer belt 5 and a belt cleaning blade 10 is changed, and thereby substances such as toner or paper powder attached to a tip of the belt cleaning blade 10 can be removed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
