摘要 <p>PURPOSE: An arc fault detecting device using arc pulse timing is provided to improve the accuracy of arc detection and guarantee the reliability and stability of a power distribution system by determining an arc fault by considering the generation timing of an arc pulse. CONSTITUTION: An arc fault detecting device(200) includes an arc pulse generating unit(210), a phase angle detecting unit(230), and an arc fault determining unit(250). The arc pulse generating unit generates an arc pulse waveform from an image current waveform detected by a ZCT(Zero Current Transformer) sensor. The phase angle detecting unit detects a phase angle of the arc pulse waveform and a load current waveform detected by a CT(Current Transformer) sensor. The arc fault determining unit matches phases the phase angles of the arc pulse waveform and the load current waveform with each other by using the phase angle detected by the phase angle detecting unit. The arc fault determining unit determines the generation of an arc fault of a power distribution system according to whether arc pulse generation timing of the arc pulse waveform corresponds to timing when a current value of the load current waveform is changed to be less than a predetermined threshold change rate.
