<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating film formed on a surface of an electrode of an electrophoretic display device, capable of improving a driving property and a memory property of charged particles and uniformly formed on the surface of the electrode. <P>SOLUTION: A coating film of the embodiment is formed on a surface of an electrode provided for an electrophoretic display device. The electrode of the electrophoretic display device is for moving charged particles dispersed in an insulation fluid by an electric field. The coating film is a molecular film including a molecule having: at least one active functional group selected from a thiol group, a disulfide group, a hydrosilyl group and a hydrolyzable silyl group; and a hydrophobic functional group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
