The system (200) has an actuator (212) for guiding wheels (2, 3). A determination unit determines desired steering angle information to be transmitted to the actuator. Another determination unit determines an average maximum steering angle to be applied on the wheels according to speed of a car, where stability of the car is not assured beyond the maximum steering angle. The desired steering angle applied to the wheels is generated from the average maximum steering angle and a control operation of a driver. An independent claim is also included for a decoupled steering control method.
