PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio controlled timepiece that can reduce power consumption while appropriately acquiring time information, and further to provide a control method for the radio controlled timepiece.SOLUTION: A radio controlled timepiece a comprises: reception means, an antenna 2 and a reception circuit 3, for receiving a standard wave; time correction means, a control circuit 4, for correcting internal time on the basis of time information included in the standard wave received by the reception means; storage means, a storage section 42, for storing the time information therein; display means 6 for displaying the internal time; and control means, a control circuit 4, for controlling the reception means. When receiving the standard wave, the control means defines a maximum value of a number of times of reception that is a number of times when receiving the standard wave and acquiring the time information transmitted for each frame as a first number of times when the time information is stored in the storage means, and defines the maximum value of the number of times of reception as a second number of times larger than the first number of times when the time information is not stored therein. |
