Disclosed are a device (1) for use with a metallic fork (10) of a forklift to protect loads which are lifted from damage through slipping and scratching. The device (1) comprises a first magnetic layer; a second rubber layer and a third intermediate layer. The first magnetic layer attached to the metallic fork (10) of the forklift magnetically. The second rubber layer is disposed on the first magnetic layer. The second layer contacts a load without scratching it and limits the likelihood of the load from slipping. The third intermediate layer is disposed between the first magnetic layer and the second rubber layer and acts to provide rigidity to the device (1), it may be metallic. The device (1) further comprises a tang which aids in detaching the device (1) from the metallic fork (10).
