<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulator for audio capable of greatly improving acoustic properties, such as depth feeling, resolution, transparency, and low frequency force feeling and selecting an acoustic property obtained by taking a music genre, listener's preference, or the like into consideration in audio equipment, and the evaluation method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: Insulator characteristics adapted to a music genre or the like are set on the basis of wind chime characteristics, such as the length of lingering sound until vibrations when impulse excitation is given to a wind chime member attenuates, beats included in an attenuation curve and a resonance mode in a high frequency region belonging to the wind chime member with one of members of audio insulator configured so as to hold acoustic raw material with upper and lower members as the wind chime member. A single raw material is used to achieve tuning of acoustic characteristics in the high frequency region by selecting the shape of a wind chime and to greatly improve depth feeling, resolution, transparency, low frequency force feeling, or the like.
