PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens capable of easily achieving a desired refractive index distribution while having a substantially flat surface shape and a manufacturing method of the same.SOLUTION: The lens has a refractive index distribution including a first refractive index on the periphery of an optical axis in a plane perpendicular to the optical axis and a second refractive index different from the first refractive index at least on part of the optical axis.
