PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide steel for a metallic mold whose high temperature strength and high thermal conductivity can be increased when the metallic mold is manufactured using a rapid prototyping process and further even when manufactured not using such a rapid prototyping process but by shaping material through cutting, the material being obtained by working an ingot.SOLUTION: The steel for a metallic mold has a composition of 0.15<C<0.34,0.20<Si<0.52,4.00<Cr<5.72-0.05814×[Cr]+0.4326<Mn<-0.2907×[Cr]+2.4628...Formula (1) (in the formula 1, [Cr] represents the content mass% of Cr), 0.72<Mo<1.60,0.20<V<0.61 and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. |
