摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a rear wheel steering device possess a failsafe function which maintains linearity at a failure of an electronic control device of an actuator which can continuously control left and right independent steering even at a failure of a sensor for detecting a steering angle, and steers left and right rear wheels, in the rear wheel steering device which independently steers the left and right rear wheels.SOLUTION: There are arranged detection system failure determination parts 54L, 54R which diagnose failures by comparing one piece of absolute position information obtained from duplicated absolute position detectors 34, 58, and absolute position information obtained from other absolute position detectors 34, 58 connected to other electronic control devices 13L, 13R via communication means 61. There are arranged microprocessor mutual monitoring parts 58L, 58R which detect that the electronic control devices 13L, 13R are failed. There are arranged control system failure coping parts 60L, 60R for steering rear wheels which are controlled by normal electronic control devices 13L, 13R to steering angles which are the same as those of rear wheels which are controlled by failed electronic control devices.
