PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bird strike prevention device for a jet engine.SOLUTION: A protection net of metal gauge, slightly smaller diameter than that of a fan 2 and having a hole 7 opened at its central part is fixed to the entire surface of the fan 2, and the hole 7 is passed to a spinner 3 and attached to the fan 2 by screws. Even if foreign material is sucked by an engine 1, the protection net 6 rotated at a high speed together with the fan 2 instantly breaks the foreign material to cause it to be dispersed in a radial direction, removed through the fan discharging holes and prevented from being entered into a core engine, so that the core engine is not damaged. At this time, since the foreign material is instantly broken and caused to be dispersed in a radial direction as described above, so that a striking pressure received by the protection net 6 is dispersed and the fan 2 merely receives fine striking pressure and the fan 2 is not damaged, either. In addition, when a fan case 8 is formed with a recessed circumference, the protection net 6 having the same diameter as that of the fan 2 is fixed to the front surface of the fan 2 to cause the broken foreign materials to be removed from the recessed circumference. |
