receiving, by the first station, a first management frame from a communications device; generating, by the first station, a first optimized management frame including a reference to the first management frame transmitting, by the first station, the first optimized management frame; and receiving, by the first station, a second optimized management frame including a reference to a second management frame transmitted by the communications device, including update information specific to the first station indicating one or more first information elements that need to be updated at the first station, and omitting one or more other information elements that are unchanged from the second management frame.
