The present invention describes suction hoods (120, 120a, 120b) for external mounting at an inlet port (112, 112a) of a suction muffler (100, 100a, 1000b, 100c) for a refrigeration system. The suction hoods (120, 120a, etc) are securely located at the inlet port by a clamping member (154, 116a, 118) and a locking mechanism disposed across the inlet port from the clamping member. In an embodiment, the clamping member (154, 116a) goes through an upper hoop (124) on the suction hood (120, etc) and may contact or cooperate with an extension member (116, 154c). The locking mechanism includes a peg-and-hoop (114,126) or pin-and-hole (162-128, 166-129) configuration. |
