APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF CORE-SHELL CATALYST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core-shell catalyst production apparatus capable of reducing the over-voltage during an electrode reaction and a core-shell catalyst production method capable of reducing production costs.SOLUTION: A core-shell catalyst production apparatus is for producing a core-shell catalyst comprising a core containing a core metal and a shell covering the core by under-potential deposition and includes a first tank which contains an acidic solution and has an action electrode and a reference electrode, a second tank which contains an acidic solution containing a polymer compound having oxidation-reduction properties and is equipped with a counter electrode containing a precious metal selected from gold and platinum and a potential control mechanism for controlling the potentials of the action electrode and the reference electrode, and the first and second tanks are separated from each other with a cation exchange membrane. A core-shell catalyst production method using the apparatus is also provided.
