PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unevenness in luminance or chromaticity when a color change, contamination, cloudiness due to aging and the like occurs in an optical component constituting backlight in display devices including backlight.SOLUTION: A display device comprises: light emitting means that has a light source; display means that controls transmittance of light from the light emitting means to thereby display an image; first sensor and second sensor that detect transmittance of the light source provided inside the light emitting means; and control means that controls transmittance of the display means on the basis of detection values by the first sensor and the second sensor. A distance from the light source to the second sensor is longer than a distance from the light source to the first sensor, and the control means is configured to control the transmittance of the display means on the basis of a difference between a falling rate of a detection value of the first sensor during a certain time period and a falling rate of a detection value of the second sensor during the certain time period. |
