PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a dirty state of the air in an entire room from both a dirt component detection of the air around an upper portion of the room and a dirt component detection of the air around a lower portion of the room.SOLUTION: An air conditioner includes an indoor unit having an indoor blower and air cleaning means, and a remote control for operating the air conditioner including the indoor unit. A detection sensor for detecting the dirt in the air is provided in each of an indoor unit and a remote control. The air conditioner includes a control unit which receives the input of the detection values of both detection sensors, determines the contamination condition of the air in a room, and controls the operation of the air conditioner. |
