<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virtual display device suppressing the generation of luminance non-uniformity and improving use efficiency of illumination light. <P>SOLUTION: An optical member 14 forms a non-uniform distribution concerning the directivity of image light emitted from an angle converting section 23, specifically, a distribution in which an inclination angleεbecomes large around a longitudinal direction. Therefore, even when an emission angleμof a light flux that is emitted from a liquid crystal display device 32 and effectively captured into the eye EY of an observer is substantially different according to a position in the Y direction of the liquid crystal display device 32, this virtual image display device can form image light having such directivity corresponding to angular characteristics of the light beam capturing so as to suppress the generation of the luminance non-uniformity and improve the use efficiency of the illumination light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
