[Class 65 (ii).] A bearing for a spring shackle 1 comprises a bushing 4 internallythreaded to screw easily on an arm 2 of the shackle and threaded externally, with an obtuse-angled thread 7 extending to the nut-head 11 of the bushing, to engage the frame bracket 9 or spring-eye, tightening of the nut 11 causing a jamming or clutching action between the bushing and bracket threads. The bushing is closed at one end by a lubricating connection 12, the lubricant passing through ducts to the threads of the bearing surfaces. |
