PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a valve opening or closing timing control system for performing a positive lock releasing operation.SOLUTION: When a lock member 31 is pulled out of a recess part 33, a second control valve 22 is set to a lock releasing position and a first control valve 21 is set to a prescribed position to displace a relative rotational phases. With this arrangement as above, the relative rotational phases are displaced to a direction opposite to a displacement direction by a cam average torque T from a cam shaft. After this operation, the first control valve 21 is set to a neutral position to cause the relative rotational phases to be displaced by the cam average torque T, a state in which the lock member 31 is spaced apart from the inner wall of the recess part 33 at this displacement is produced and then a pulling-out of the lock member 31 from the recess part 33 is facilitated. |
