PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid concentration of processing loads caused by polling processing applied to equipment to be managed even when the number of the equipment to be managed is increased. SOLUTION: A network management apparatus is equipped with an equipment information storage section 123, a connection management section 122, a polling section 124 and a polling counting section 125. The polling section 124 monitors a count value of the polling counting section 125 of equipment 13 to be managed that becomes a polling processing target and when the count value is less than the predetermined reference number of times of transmission, the polling section 124 transmits a polling request message to the equipment 13 to be managed. When the count value becomes the reference number of times of transmission, the polling section 124 stops polling processing and performs other processing. Thus, temporal and physical resources for performing the other processing without concentrating processing loads to the polling processing can be obtained and processing delay can be avoided as a whole.
