The device has an area (12) for applying coating by a coating unit, and a draining area (13) for draining excessive coating. Another area (14) is provided for hardening the coating by a hardening unit (16). A conveyor (19) conveys an electronic device (11) such as printed circuit board assembly, relative to the areas in a conveying direction. The hardening unit is movable relative to the conveying direction independent of the conveyor. The hardening unit is provided on two sides, which are facing one another, of the conveyor. The conveyor runs within an area of the hardening unit.
