PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage controlled oscillator and a voltage controlled oscillator unit at a low cost whereby digital broadcasting can excellently be received. SOLUTION: The voltage controlled oscillator 1a includes: a resonance circuit 2 that includes varactor elements 4, 5 provided in parallel with each other with respect to a series circuit comprising inductors 3 and is resonated at a resonance frequency on the basis of inductances of the inductors 3 and the total capacitance of the varactor elements 4, 5; and at least one switch 6 that switches a connection destination of at least one capacitance control terminal 5 of the varactor elements 4, 5.
