摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase difference film which has an improved uniformity of distribution of retardation value in the film width direction and distribution of saponification in the width direction, to provide a method of manufacturing the phase difference film, and to provide a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device using the phase difference film. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing phase difference film which includes a retardation promotion agent comprising at least two aromatic rings by 0.1 to 15 mass% and has an Ro expressed by eq.(I) of 20 to 300 nm and an Rt expressed by eq.(II) of 70 to 400 nm; eq.(I) Ro=(nx-ny)&times;d, eq.(II) Rt=ä(nx+ny)/2-nz}&times;d, at least one among the following manufacturing conditions (1)-(3) is used; (1) stretching in the range of proportion of stress at maximum stretch to stress at fracture, 50 to 98%, (2) stretching in the range of stress absolute value at maximum stretch, 5 to 50 MPa, (3) stretching in the range of stress gradient at maximum stretch, 0.4 to 0.8 MPa/%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
