<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic coupon providing system that can make users willing to come to stores by distributing electronic coupons, and that allows the contents of returns for the electronic coupons to be changed even after distribution. <P>SOLUTION: A coupon creation server 3 distributes to a user' communication terminal 2 the electronic coupon for which the contents of returns are yet to be determined. A store terminal 4, when receiving the input of a coupon number on the electronic coupon distributed to the communication terminal 2, sends to a coupon management server 5 a request to determine the contents of the returns. The coupon management server 5 stores in a storage part 50 the coupon number and information about whether the returns have already been received, and on determining that no returns have been received for the electronic coupon according to the coupon number included in the request to determine the contents of the returns and the information stored in the storage part 50, determines the contents of the returns.
