PURPOSE: To obtain a remedy for treating insufficiency of myocardial function after ischemia and improving cardiac function and comprising a thromboxane A2 antagonist and its carrier. CONSTITUTION: An already-known thromboxane A2 antagonist, e.g. [IS-[1α,2β(5Z), 3β(1E,3R,4S), 4α]]-7-[3-(3-hydroxy-4-phenyl-1-pentenyl)-7- oxabicyclo[2,2,1]hept-2-yl]-5-heptenic acid is administered orally, parenterally or by using a catheter to whole body. Insufficiency of myocardial function is improved and recovery of the cardiac function is enhanced by administering the antagonist in, before or just after the ischemic attack. The dose amount in the case of arterial lymphangiography or a coronalis injection is 0.1-30mg/kg per treatment, and the daily dose in the case of oral or parenteral dose and whole body administration is 5-2500mg and administered in one or two to four divided portions.
