The cryogenic system (2) contains a low-temperature tank (3), at a low temperature (Tt), inside a warmer vacuum housing (9). A radiation shield (7) is arranged between the low-temperature tank (3) and the vacuum housing (9). To reduce the amount of heat passed into the low-temperature area on account of heat radiation, provision is made according to the invention for the low-temperature tank (3), on its outer surface (5) facing the radiation shield (7), to be provided with a coating (4) which at least partly contains a superconductive material with a high transition temperature which is above the intermediate temperature (Tz) of the radiation shield (7). <IMAGE>
