The method is for disposing of used cartridge type oil filters of the type used on motor vehicles. The cartridge is supported and rotated by two rotating wheels (3) as it is pressed against a knife blade (2) which cuts off the end wall of the cartridge. The filter element is removed and compressed to re ove any remaining oil, after which it can be disposed of by dumping onn a refuse tip. The metal body can be compressed and disposed of as scrap metal. USE - Disposal of used oil filters from motor vehicles.
