Prodn. of fertilisers (A) comprises mixing and granulating a potassium chloride or potassium magnesium chloride fertiliser (B) with a moist calcium sulphate hydrate and with a basic calcium cpd. and opt. a basic magnesium cpd. Pref. the calcium sulphate hydrate, which can be (partly) replaced by calcium magnesium sulphate hydrate, is used in an amt. to provide 20-60 kg S per 100 kg K2O. Also, the amt. of basic calcium and opt. magnesium cpd. is such that most of the chloride of (B) is converted into CaCl2 and opt. MgCl2 during the processing or under the influence of moisture during use. USE/ADVANTAGE - (A) provide K, Ca, S and opt. Mg in readily available and rapid acting form. They are used in agriculture and forestry in a planned regimen during the intensive growth period, esp. on clay and sandy soils, and do not make the soil acid. (A) are more effective than the fertilisers known from DE3738938, DE1767329 and DE2655450
