Method comprises knitting a thin article, pref. with sunk stitches, which is flexible to give deformability then combining this with a plate or sheet of plastic by calendering immediately following extrusion. The calendering is carried out before the sheet has cooled to ensure the embedding at least superficially of the knitted structure into the plastic. Pref. the knitting uses a copper strip of 0.3-1.5 mm width and 0.001-0.003 mm thick pref. silver coated together with a synthetic thread to ensure good liaison with the plastic.
