A fuel filling opening device for a vehicle, which permits insertion therethrough of only fuel filling nozzles having diameters within a predetermined diameter range and prohibits insertion therethrough of fuel filling nozzles having diameters outside (below or above) the diameter range. The device can be used even in land areas where measures that fuel filling nozzles have different diameters for different kinds of oil are not yet popular enough. The fuel filling opening device has a manual operation mechanism (25) that permits, by manual operation, insertion of only fuel filling nozzles having diameters within the predetermined diameter range through the fuel filling opening device.
