PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display excellent images even when images are disturbed by the influence of high frequency noise without depending on an expensive measure against the high frequency noise in terms of hardware. SOLUTION: In the electronic endoscope apparatus wherein illumination light outputted from a lamp 11 is outputted through a light guide 14 from a distal end and the image of an observation target body is formed by using a CCD 16 and a first image processing circuit 18, a CPU 25 determines that it is a defective state due to the high frequency noise and resets the first image processing circuit 18 when detecting that the lamp 11 is turned on from a lamp control circuit 12 and also detecting that image signals outputted from the first image processing circuit 18 are at 0 level for the fixed time or longer. That is, supply power to the first image processing circuit 18 is reset, the reset of the timing of clock signals and setting data, etc., is executed, and the image is restored.
