PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device capable of preventing printed documents from being irregularly aligned in directions of paper sheets, and being prepared as they are. SOLUTION: When paper sheet is run out in a selection tray, when a cross sort is turned off (No in a step S51), a digital copier 1 changes the selection tray based on the priority of each paper feed tray (step S52). When the cross sort is turned on, and paper feed trays under the same condition are present (Yes in a step S53), the digital copier 1 changes the paper feed trays under the same condition to the selection tray (step S54). On the other hand, when any paper feed trays under the same condition are absent, and the other paper feed tray is present (Yes in a step S55), the digital copier 1 changes other paper feed tray to the selection (step S57). When the other paper feed tray is present but the direction of the paper sheets cannot be changed (No in a step S56), the digital copier 1 determines that the selection tray cannot be reset (step S59).
