<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing the phenomenon (tailing) that the rear end in the vertical scanning direction scatters to disturb an image, regardless of the environment and the paper type, in a linear image in the main scanning direction. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus which charges an image carrier, exposes the charged image carrier on the basis of input image information to form an electrostatic latent image, develops the electrostatic latent image by developer to form the visible image of the input image, conveys a transfer material on which the visible image is transferred to a fixing device and fixes the visible image on the transfer material through heat and pressure by the fixing device, when the input image is a binary horizontal line image at least of 2x2 dot width or more, formed from the main scanning direction and the vertical scanning direction of the transfer material, control is made so that the developer carried amount on the the upstream side in the vertical scanning direction becomes smaller than the developer carried amount on the downstream side in the vertical scanning direction with the same dot width (refer to 7-3). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
