PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CAD shape generation supporting apparatus which can apply a suitable shape change for a dissatisfied part of design rules and fully prevent design fix to improve design work efficiency. SOLUTION: For a shape model of CAD after addition of a feature by a user, the CAD shape generation supporting apparatus specifies an additional position (location) of a new feature to be added for canceling the dissatisfied part of the design rules by a shape recognition section 6 that takes over work information from a design rule checking section 5 with reference to a feature database 3 and a design rule database 4 for checking, then performs the shape recognition of the connection state of the shape of the feature arranged on the shape model so as to satisfy the design rules of the shape model specified based on manufacturing requirements when generating shape data in the three-dimensional CAD, and transfers to a work guiding section 7 the detailed work information required for the generation work of the shape data in the CAD to display it as a work guidance for the user.
