PURPOSE: A displacement control valve of a variable displacement compressor is provided to prevent the operation delay of the compressor by employing a connection passage connecting a crank case and a suction chamber and a pressure-operated valve installed in the connection passage. CONSTITUTION: A variable displacement compressor(C) comprises a cylinder block(10), a driving shaft(44), a piston(14), a swash plate(50), housings(16,18), and a displacement control valve(100). The driving shaft is arranged to rotate about the cylinder block. The swash plate is installed in the circumference of the driving shaft and connected to the piston. The housing comprises a suction chamber(22), a discharge chamber(24), and a crank case(86). The displacement control valve adjusts the inclination angle of the swash plate in order to control the discharge capacity. The suction chamber and the crank case are connected through a bleeding passage(13) and an additional connection passage(15). A pressure-operated valve(200) is installed in the connection passage and opens the connection passage when the compressor is started and the liquid generating condition of refrigerant in the crank case is satisfied.
