<p>The present disclosure refers to a computer-implemented method for a secure execution of workflow tasks of a workflow to be executed according to a given execution pattern in a decentralized workflow system with a central workflow engine (CWE) initiating the workflow and a plurality of task execution agents (A(t 1 ), A(t 2 ), ...), wherein task-based public-private key pairs are produced using a workflow signature scheme. The task-based public-private key pairs are generated as needed or in a just-in-time manner, and issued dynamically, in the sense that they can be provided after the associated execution agents have been selected at run-time.
