PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a cylindrical member of high quality having a coating film on the outer peripheral surface of an axis body by using an annular coating head.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the cylindrical member includes a process for lifting the axis body held in a vertical direction, and ejecting a coating liquid from an annular slit to form the coating film of the coating liquid on the outer peripheral surface of the axis body. The process includes a process (1) to a process (3) in this order: (1) the ejection of the coating liquid from the annular slit is stopped after forming the coating film of the coating liquid up to the upper end of a coating region on the outer peripheral surface of the axis body, (2) a lower holding shaft is lifted with respect to the annular coating head so that a cleaning blade passes through the annular slit to clean the annular slit, and (3) the lower holding shaft is lowered with respect to the annular coating head so that the cleaning blade passes through the annular slit to clean the annular slit. The method further includes a process for rotating the cleaning blade around the lower holding shaft to clean the cleaning blade after at least one of the processes (2) and (3). |
