SURFACE-ENHANCED RAMAN SCATTERING ELEMENT

This surface-enhanced Raman scattering element is provided with: a substrate having a primary surface; a molded layer including a support part formed on the primary surface and a microstructure part formed on the support part; and a conductor layer which is deposited on the microstructure part and which constitutes an optical functional unit that generates surface-enhanced Raman scattering. The microstructure part comprises multiple pillars that stand up from the support part. On the support part, multiple opposing parts are provided facing the lateral surface of the pillars. In the direction in which the pillars protrude, the opposing parts are positioned on the substrate side relative to the tips of the pillars.
