Provided by the present invention is a control method capable of normally operating a hill start assisting device without an error by normally recognizing a hill even though a vehicle starts after a sudden stop. For the aforementioned, the control method of the hill start assisting device prevents a rear push of a vehicle by forming braking power by a brake system when the vehicle starts on a hill after a stop. The control method of the hill start assisting device disclosed by the present invention includes the steps of: determining the stop and brake statuses of a vehicle; receiving a current sensing value from an accelerometer of the vehicle which outputs a sensing value periodically by sensing an acceleration in the stop and brake statuses of the vehicle; determining the satisfaction of output stabilization conditions of the accelerometer using the current sensing value and a previous sensing value; calculating an acceleration-accumulated average value by accumulating current sensing values and striking the accumulated sensing values of the accelerometer in a case not satisfying the output stabilization conditions of the accelerometer; comparing the acceleration-accumulated average value with a predetermined acceleration reference value; and operating the hill start assisting device when the acceleration-accumulated average value is greater than the acceleration reference value. |
