PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve power saving efficiency of an apparatus by allowing the apparatus in a power saving state to more exactly determine whether to return to a normal state, when receiving a packet.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus which is operable in a power saving state with less power consumption than in a normal state determines, when receiving a packet transited via a network in the power saving state, whether the packet is a packet, according to a specified protocol. As a result of determination, if the packet is determined as being the packet according to the specified protocol, the apparatus analyzes data on a succeeding packet described in a data description language, and instructs the apparatus itself to return from the power saving state to the normal state, depending on the analysis result. |
