A lithium secondary battery is provided. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a lithium secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode containing a positive electrode active material represented by chemical formula 1; a negative electrode; and an electrolyte containing sulfite, tris(trialkylsilyl) phosphite, lithium bis(oxalato)borate, or an additive as a combination thereof. The chemical formula 1 is xLi_2MnO_3-(1-x)LiMO_2, wherein x is greater than 0 and less than 1, and M is a transition metal. |
