<p>A method and system are provided for effectuating an electronic negotiation between a consumer device and a merchant. The method includes identifying an interest of the user respective of a product offered by the merchant on an e-commerce website based on a received indication from the e-commerce web site; requesting a counter offer to a price requested by the e-commerce website; upon receiving the counter offer, retrieving metadata associated with the product; computing a score representing a probability that a merchant of the product would accept the counter offer based on the retrieved metadata; selecting at least one content item for display on the consumer device in response to the counter offer, the at least one content item is selected based on the counter offer and the retrieved metadata; and causing a display of the at least one selected content item on a display of the consumer device.</p> |
